Policies

What to know before you book. Your therapist goes over clothing and pressure again at every visit.

Booking and deposits

Book online or call. We take no deposit, and we text a reminder the day before. Say if you want a particular therapist, or ask who has the next opening.

Canceling and running late

Please tell us at least a few hours ahead if you need to cancel or move a session, by phone or text, so we can offer the time to someone else. If you are running late, call: we shorten the session rather than rush it.

If you miss an appointment

If you miss a session without a message, we will call to see that you are all right and to rebook. After a second missed session we ask you to confirm each booking by phone.

Children and companions

The studio is for adults. Teens 14 and older are welcome when a parent or guardian books and stays in the room. Please arrange care for younger children before you come.

If you're not happy

Tell us within a few days and we will make it right. We would rather hear it from you and adjust the next session than have you leave unsure.

Tipping

Tips are welcome and never expected. They go to the therapist who saw you.

Undressing and draping

You stay clothed or covered for the whole visit. For foot work you keep your clothes on and we roll your pants to the knee. For tuina you wear loose clothes, or lie under a sheet if you prefer. Only the part being worked is uncovered, never more than you choose.

Pressure, consent and stopping

Before we start we ask how firm you like it and what to leave alone, and we ask again when we change areas. Tell us at any time to go lighter or firmer, or to stop. We work with our hands and forearms.

Before your visit

Come as you are, uniform and all. Wear pants that roll to the knee and a top you can move in, and take your shoes off at the door. Arrive five minutes early on a first visit.

When to ask your doctor first

If you are pregnant, have had recent surgery or an injury, or are under a doctor's care for something that affects your feet or how you move, ask your doctor before you book and tell your therapist at the start. We may suggest you do so before a first session.
